Post a memorial

Registering and logging in

In order to create and post your memorial, please register first by clicking here.

Once you have registered, your password will be sent to the e-mail address you provided during registration.

Please log in here with the user name you selected and the password sent to your e-mail address.

Once you have logged in, you may change your password by clicking on the “Profile” tab.

Creating your memorial

After logging in, you may begin creating your memorial by clicking on the “Write” tab. Subsequently, you may amend or delete your memorial by clicking on the “Manage” tab. Please note that your memorial will be in the form of a “Post” and not a “Page”.

The title of your memorial should the name of the person being memorialised, and the last name should be put in front e.g. “Tan, Robert” or “Tan Fok Hai, Robert” or “Tan Fok Hai” but not “Robert Tan Fok Hai”.

If you are proficient in html, you may create your memorial using html by clicking on the “Code” tab. Otherwise, you may simply use the “Visual” tab. In both cases, you are able to format your text as well as insert photographs.

To allow people to leave condolences and comments, please ensure that “Allow Comments” is checked under the “Discussion” tab. If you do not wish to allow people to leave comments, “Allow Comments” should be unchecked.

Please ensure that you have put your memorial in the correct category i.e. ensure that “A-C”, “D-F”, “G-I”, ”J-L”, “M-O”, ”P-S”, “T-V” or “W-Z” (depending on last name) is checked under the “Categories” tab. 

Once you have created your memorial, just click on “Publish”.

If you wish to share your memorial with others, simply go to your memorial and click on the “ShareThis” link at the bottom.

Getting us to create and post a memorial on your behalf 

If you would like us to create and post a memorial on your behalf, please e-mail us at webmaster@theeternalcandle.com and provide the following:-

  • Details of your loved one who has passed on (including full name, date of birth and date of passing).
  • Your details (including e-mail address, full name and relationship with your loved one who has passed on).
  • Your message.
  • Photo(s) which you wish to share.
  • E-mail addresses of the persons who should be notified of the memorial.
  • Confirmation of whether you would like to allow visitors to leave comments.
